KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Bill of Materials (BOM) Management
- Create, maintain, and govern multi-level BOMs for all active and in-development SKUs.
- Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and procurement to ensure BOMs reflect current component specifications and sourcing.
- Audit BOMs regularly to identify discrepancies, obsolete components, or cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage BOM versioning and change control processes across ERP/PLM systems.
SKU Information & Data Integrity
- Own the master SKU database, including product attributes, dimensions, UPC/EAN codes, and descriptions.
- Partner with sales, marketing, and warehouse teams to ensure SKU data is accurate and consistent across all platforms.
- Coordinate new SKU setup and sunset processes, maintaining clean catalog hygiene.
- Identify and resolve SKU duplication, misclassification, or data gaps.
Purchase Order (PO) & Manufacturing Order (MO) Tracking
- Issue and manage POs to suppliers, tracking from confirmation through delivery and receipt.
- Create and monitor MOs within the ERP system, ensuring alignment with production schedules and inventory levels.
- Resolve discrepancies between ordered, received, and invoiced quantities in coordination with finance and procurement.
- Maintain a live PO/MO dashboard and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
Production Timeline & Scheduling
- Develop and manage detailed production schedules, balancing capacity, lead times, and demand forecasts.
- Proactively identify bottlenecks, supply risks, or delays and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and internal teams to meet delivery commitments.
- Report production KPIs including on-time delivery rate, cycle time, and order fulfillment accuracy.
Inventory Management — Components & Finished Goods
- Maintain accurate inventory records for both raw material/component stock and finished goods across all warehouse and storage locations.
- Monitor component inventory levels in alignment with production schedules, ensuring materials are available to support MO execution without excess buildup.
- Manage finished goods inventory across all distribution points, balancing service levels with working capital targets.
- Establish and enforce reorder points, minimum order quantities, and safety stock thresholds for both components and finished goods.
- Generate and review inventory aging reports for components and finished goods to drive timely disposition decisions on slow-moving or obsolete stock.
Cycle Counts
- Design and maintain a cycle count program covering all inventory categories — components, WIP, and finished goods — based on ABC classification or velocity.
- Schedule and execute cycle counts on a regular cadence, coordinating with warehouse and production teams to minimize operational disruption.
- Investigate and document root causes of count variances, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Reconcile count results in the ERP/MRP system and escalate significant discrepancies to finance and operations leadership.
- Track cycle count accuracy over time and report on inventory health metrics to management.
Stock Transfers & Adjustments
- Oversee all stock transfer transactions between locations, production lines, and fulfillment centers, ensuring timely and accurate system updates.
- Review, authorize, and process inventory adjustments in the ERP/MRP system for damages, returns, write-offs, and corrections.
- Maintain a complete audit trail for all transfers and adjustments, ensuring compliance with internal controls and finance requirements.
- Coordinate with the warehouse, 3PL partners, and production teams to ensure physical movements are reflected accurately in the system.
- Identify patterns in recurring adjustments and implement process improvements to reduce error rates.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison between procurement, logistics, quality, and sales operations teams.
- Lead weekly production and S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) meetings.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) by driving production readiness milestones.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and document control requirements.
